Burglary Suspects Arrested

On August 22, 2013, at just past midnight, a former Safeway employee conspired with a female counterpart to burglarize Safeway in retaliation for terminating his employment. Bellinghausen was entrusted with the code to the safe. He entered the store where in a surgical mask to hide his identity. He even spoke to his prior store manager prior to the heist. He stole over $20K dollars from the safe and was seen running out of the store getting into his car. Later that day, Officers located and arrested 22 year old Mario Bellinghausen of Santa Nella, CA with his half of the loot. A couple days later, on August 24, Detectives arrested Yesmith Sandoval, 22, of Los Banos, CA at a pizza parlor in Los Banos. She had the remaining amount loot minus the money Bellinghausen used to bail out of jail. They were both booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for conspiracy and burglary. Detectives recovered nearly all of the $20K+ stolen from Safeway.

Morgan Hill Police Department would like to remind citizens to remain vigilant and report suspicious behavior/activity. The above investigation is a further example of how assistance from the public can lead to the reduction of crime in our community.
