Suspicious Activity Results in Burglary Arrests & Unclaimed Property

NORTH AURORA, IL—On August 12^th, officers of the North Aurora Police Department arrested two men for burglary and recovered several unclaimed items that are presumed stolen.  We’re asking for the public’s help to identify these items and return them to their rightful owners.

On August 12^th, at approximately 3:00 a.m., an officer noticed a suspicious blue Chevrolet Malibu that was stopped on Sycamore, just north of Oak St.  It was stopped with the dome light on occupied by two men in front of Highland Park, which was closed. 

During a subsequent traffic stop of the Malibu, the officer noticed a tire iron in the front seat and a gas chainsaw, electric chainsaw, a leaf blower, a miter saw, a skateboard, and a bow and arrow set.  Officers later determined that the two men committed a burglary in the 100 blk. of N. Sycamore Ln. where they stole the gas chainsaw, the miter saw, and the skateboard.

Arrested were:

• Jordan T. Murray, 21, of the 1000 blk. of Reckinger Rd., Aurora.
• Angel A. Perez, 20, of the 700 blk. of Graham Rd., North Aurora

Both Murray and Perez were each charged with one count of Burglary, a class 2 Felony, in connection with the burglary in the 100 blk. of Sycamore Ln.  However, several items in Murray’s and Perez’s possession remain unclaimed and are presumed stolen.  These items (photo attached) are:

• An orange Homelite brand leaf blower
• A yellow Crate brand guitar amplifier
• A Crybaby brand foot pedal
• A Remington brand 14 inch electric chainsaw
• A Elkhorn brand bow, 3 orange arrows, and 3 black arrows

All persons arrested are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
