Employee Recognized for 25 Years of Service

Lafayette Post-Indiana state Police at Lafayette recognize one of the civilian employees for 25 years of service to the department.

Lieutenant Jay Janke, the District Commander of the Lafayette Post, recognized Virginia “Ginny” Dailey for her service to the Indiana State Police. Ginny, who lives in the Lafayette area with her family started work on July 27, 1988. She has been the post receptionist, with the official title of Switchboard Operator V, where her duties include answering phones, greeting the public when they enter the front door of the post and assisting with filing of paperwork.

“Over the years I have been asked some very odd questions about what police are or are not able to do,” explained Ginny. “I would have to laugh after talking to the people on what their expectations of Troopers were suppose to be! It has been a wonderful experience to greet all the people who have passed through the doors of this post.”

“It has been a great privilege and an honor to work with such a wonderful and dedicated employee as Ginny Daily,” explains Lieutenant Janke. “Her dedication to the job, to show up during the heaviest snowfall or the hottest weather, shows what kind of people the State of Indiana employs!”

Picture included is of Lt. Janke awarding Ginny Daily her 25 years of service plaque and pin.
