Four male adults recently pled no contest to residential burglary in Norwalk Superior Court. The suspects will receive a combined total of 61 years in state prison for burglarizing homes in the City of Norwalk. Twenty-two-year-old Daveon Hicks of Compton will receive 13 years in prison, thirty-three-year-old Terrance Pearson of Compton will receive 22 years in prison, Twenty-one-year-old Curry Williams of Compton will receive 4 years in prison, and Twenty-year-old Delwan Chiles of Carson will receive 22 years in prison.
This case could not have been possible without an alert and vigilant citizen reporting suspicious activity to the Sheriff’s Department on Friday, February 22, 2013. Highly trained and skilled Norwalk Station Patrol and Detective Bureau Personnel responded and quickly assessed the routine suspicious person call as regular method of operation for burglars who routinely burglarize homes. The response led to a vehicle pursuit where the suspects abandoned their vehicle in Lynwood and fled on foot. With assistance of Century Sheriff’s Station personnel, all the suspects were eventually apprehended.
The arrest of the suspects is an example of public participation and partnership with the Sheriff’s Department in stopping criminal activity within the community.
