Fruitport Township Police Department is investigating multiple larcenies from vehicles. Victims have reported theft of valuables from unlocked vehicles during the overnight hours.

The attached map provides information regarding the general locations of the incidents reported to police this morning.

One of the victims reported encountering a subject rummaging through the victim's vehicle at approximately 5:30 a.m. on Friday, August 23, 2013. The suspect reportedly fled on foot from the area after being discovered by the victim. The suspect was described as a white male with a thin build. Police responded to the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

Police are continuing to investigate the incidents. Anyone with information regarding these incidents is encouraged to contact Fruitport Township Police Department at (231) 865-8477 or Silent Observer at (231) 72-CRIME.

This series of incidents comes on the heels of another series of similar incidents in the area in which Fruitport Township Police Department arrested three male subjects following a series of larcenies from vehicles and home invasions.

Police urge residents to remove valuables from their vehicles and lock their vehicles, homes, and outbuildings. Police ask residents to be alert to suspicious persons in the area and report any observed suspicious activity to police immediately.

No further information about these incidents is being released by police at this time.
