Reminder: PIAC hearing tomorrow at Hillcrest Community Center

The City of Kansas City, Mo., invites residents to share their ideas for public improvements at the citywide PIAC hearing on Wednesday, Aug. 21 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Hillcrest Community Center, 10401 Hillcrest Road.

This hearing follows a series of neighborhood-level meetings held earlier in the summer. PIAC (Public Improvements Advisory Committee) will use public input to make recommendations to the City Council regarding both the citywide and neighborhood portions of the Fiscal Year 2014-15 capital budget. Project funding comes from the one-cent sales tax for public improvements.

PIAC funds typically are used for flood control, storm drainage, street resurfacing, bridge repairs, traffic signals, tree trimming and planting, and improvements to parks and trails.

Residents also may suggest a project by filling out a form. Visit www.kcmo.org/piac for an online form or call 816-513-2826 for a paper form. The deadline to submit a suggestion is Aug. 31, 2013.
Any person with a disability who desires reasonable accommodation to attend the PIAC citywide hearings may contact the City’s 311 Call Center at 311 or 816-513-1313, or for TTY, 816-513-1889, or by email at [email protected].
