MEDIA AVAILABILITY: Detective’s Seek Public’s Assistance in Identifying Carjacking Suspect

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Parks Bureau Detectives are looking for a man who committed a carjacking and kidnapping on July 19, 2013, at 5:15 p.m. The crimes occurred at Alondra Park where the victims were sitting in their vehicle in the parking lot. The suspect entered the vehicle and forcibly obtained the key to the vehicle from the driver. He drove away from the park with two victims in the backseat while leaving the driver/victim standing in the parking lot.
The suspect then crashed into two vehicles as he left the parking lot with the two victims still in the backseat. The victim’s pleaded with the suspect to stop driving and set them free. The suspect responded to their pleas with threats to kill them and crash the vehicle. This continued until the suspect collided into another vehicle at Van Ness Boulevard and Imperial Highway in the city of Hawthorne. The suspect fled from the collision and was last seen running eastbound.
The suspect is described as Male, black, 20-25 years-of-age, 6’0”, 170 lbs. black hair brown eyes.
