U.S. SMALL BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION SET TO CLOSE
DISASTER LOAN OUTREACH CENTER FOR L.A. COUNTY POWERHOUSE FIRE RESIDENTS AND BUSINESS OWNERS

The Los Angeles County Chief Executive Office, Office of Emergency Management announced that the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Disaster Loan Outreach Center located at Hughes-Elizabeth Lakes Union Elementary School (16633 Elizabeth Lake Rd., Lake Hughes, CA 93532) is scheduled to close at 4:30 p.m. PDT on Thu., July 11, 2013.

Despite the Los Angeles County Powerhouse Fire SBA Disaster Loan Outreach Center closing today, residents, renters and businesses can still follow-up by calling 1-800-659-2955, or by e-mailing at [email protected] or by visiting the SBA’s website at http://www.sba.gov/services/disasterassistance. Individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing may call 1-800-877-8339. The filing deadline to return applications for property damage is August 26, 2013. The deadline to return economic injury applications is March 25, 2014.

SBA provides low-interest federal disaster loans that are available to homeowners, renters, businesses of all sizes and private, non-profit organizations whose property was damaged or destroyed by the Powerhouse Fire (May 30-June 11, 2013). SBA staff issued loan applications, answered questions about SBA’s disaster loan program, provided explanations of the application process, in addition to helped individuals complete their applications.

Residents and business owners, including persons with disabilities and others with access and functional needs may call 211 LA County for emergency preparedness information and other referral services. The toll-free 2-1-1 number is available 24 hours a day and seven days a week. 211 LA County services can also be accessed by visiting http://211la.org.
