CCPD officers save life of severely ill pit-bull
This morning at 11:46am, CCPD responded to a call of drunk driver in the area of Washington Blvd and Inglewood Blvd. Prior to the officers' arrival, they were advised that the suspected drunk driver had a dog that was severely ill in the trunk of his car. The driver had stopped and took the dog out of the trunk, placing it on the street before fleeing the location. When the officers arrived, they located a severely ill pit-bull in the street. The officers placed the pit-bull in the backseat of a patrol vehicle and rushed it to an emergency veterinary hospital. The suspected drunk driver was arrested later in the afternoon on charges of animal cruelty. The pit-bull is in critical but stable condition and expected to survive.
