Carroll County-Yesterday at approximately 11:05 p.m. at 11538 north and US 421 in Carroll County (that is just south of Monticello, IN on US 421), a female was stabbed in the leg and transported to the hospital.
Indiana State Police along with Carroll County Sheriff’s Department, Monticello Police Department and the White County Sheriff’s Department were called to the residence for a stabbing that had just occurred. Jessica Boyd, 20 years old with an unknown address was stabbed in the right leg by Elmer D. Guinn, 63 years old who lives at the residence. The stabbing allegedly occurred because Guinn wanted to go to sleep in his bed and Boyd refused get out of the bed.
Guinn was arrested with preliminary charges of Battery with a Deadly Weapon, a Class B Felony, Criminal Recklessness with a Deadly Weapon a Class C Felony and Intimidation with a Deadly Weapon a Class C Felony. Bond was set at $50,000.00 USC. He was transported to the Carroll County Jail. Boyd was transported to IU White Memorial Hospital in Monticello, IN by Monticello Fire and Rescue with non-life threatening injuries. She was treated and released. The investigation is continuing
The investigation is being conducted by Trooper Tyler Stinson of the Indiana State Police at Lafayette.
