Armed Robbery in Delphi

Delphi-Today at approximately 2:07 a.m. in Delphi, IN, Troopers from the Indiana State Police at Lafayette, Carroll County Sheriff’s Department and the Delphi Police Department responded to an armed robbery at the Delphi Discount Tobacco at 303 West Main Street.

Upon arrival, officers found Raj Singh, 21 years old from Delphi had been stabbed multiple times in the upper left shoulder area. Singh was the night clerk at the Discount Tobacco Store when a suspect wearing a mask and wielding a knife came into the store. The suspect grabbed Singh, stabbed him and then demanded money and cigarettes. The suspect left the store with an unknown amount of US currency and cigarettes.

Singh was transported to IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette, IN by Carroll County Ambulance with non-life threatening injuries. He has been treated and released. Indiana State Police Crime Scene Technician Sergeant Jason Page along with Indiana State Police Criminal Investigation Division Sergeant Bryan Harper and Senior Trooper Detective Stephen Buckley are leading the investigation. The investigation is continuing. No other information will be released at this time.

Assisting at the scene were Troopers Jerrad Foutch and Tyler Stinson.
