C.E.R.T. and North Caldwell are currently seeking new members to join the team.
Residents of North Caldwell who are 18 and older are asked to take the C.E.R.T. training course Beginning July 9, 2013 in Cedar Grove at the Essex County College Police Academy. The course is offered by the Essex County Office of Emergency Management and assisted by active West Essex CERT volunteers.
Training lasts 2 weeks: July, 9, 11, 16, 18, (Tuesdays and Thursdays 7PM-11PM and on July 20- Saturday 9AM-3PM.
During this 5-day training session, you will learn 9 modules necessary to train you as a C.E.R.T. member. At the end of the course, you will be a certified member of the team:
- Disaster Preparedness
- Fire Safety and Utility Controls
- Medical Operations-light triage Pt 1
- Medical Operations-light triage Pt 2
- Light Search and Rescue
- CERT Organization
- Disaster Psychology
- Terrorism
- Disaster Simulation
