RE: Shooting Steuben County Indiana 7/7/2013 – Arrests made

On July 7th 2013 at 3:01 A.M the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office responded to 220 Lane 355 Jimmerson Lake (Buena Vista addition) to a person being shot. Deputies arrived to find Ruben Sanchez Jr. age 29 of Muncie Indiana suffering from gunshot wounds in the front yard. Sanchez was taken to Cameron Hospital by Steuben County EMS and then transferred to Parkview hospital where Sanchez died from his injuries. An autopsy is scheduled for 7/8/2013.
Detectives from the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office and the Indiana State Police immediately began investigating the shooting. Four search warrants were served in the Jimmerson Lake area, two on homes and two on vehicles. After interviewing several people believed to be involved two were arrested for their involvement in the case.

Arrested are:

Mark Zachery Hines age 28 of Jimmerson Lake Fremont Indiana – Charge of Murder – Held without bond in the Steuben County Jail pending arraignment

Tyler Lee Biggs age 18 of Jimmerson Lake Fremont Indiana – Charge of Aiding in Murder – Held without bond in the Steuben County Jail pending arraignment

The case remains under investigation. All questions regarding the case or arrests are to be directed to the Steuben County Prosecutors office.
