HELP SMPD DETECTIVES CATCH THIS BURGLARY SUSPECT!


San Mateo Police Detectives are investigating a burglary that occurred on April 11th 2013, in the 1200 block of Quince St. in San Mateo. Over $50,000 worth of jewelry and rare coins were stolen from the residence. The property was sold to a Jewelry Store in San Jose the following day. The male subject who sold the stolen property was described as a Hispanic Male in his thirties, with a stocky build. He was seen leaving the Jewelry Store on a black “Sport Bike” style motorcycle with no rear license plate.

Detectives and Officers from SMPD have done an extensive investigation into the incident, but are still trying to identify the suspect. SMPD is asking for the community’s assistance in identifying this suspect.

SMPD is looking for information related to the following:
• Burglary - Thursday, April 11th 2013 between the hours of 11:30am and 10:00pm in the 1200 block of Quince Street in San Mateo.
• The subject depicted in the attached picture who was in the 1100 block of East Santa Clara Street in San Jose on a black “Sport” type motorcycle at about 02:15pm on April 12th.

• If you believe that there is an unknown or unwanted person in your home while you are there, DO NOT CONFRONT THEM. Confronting suspects in the commission of a crime is DANGEROUS. - Secure yourself in a safe area of the house or leave the house if you can, and notify police via 911, or 650-522-7700.
• Open and unlocked windows and doors, and easy access through unlocked side gates to areas not visible from the street continue to be a common method of access for burglars. Remember to secure your doors and windows, as well as yard access, when you are not home.
