New Ross, Montgomery County-Late last night, around 10:00 P.M., Sunday, June 30th, evening, Montgomery County and Indiana State Police responded to a 911 hang-up at a residence at 4283 South 775 East in New Ross, reporting a possible gun shot.
What officers found was Christopher W. Givans, 24 of New Ross with a gunshot wound. Givens was visiting the above residence when Elisha M. Arthur, 35 of 7281 South 1050 East, New Ross drove to that residence and got into a physical altercation with Givans. At some point it is alleged that Arthur pulled a handgun and shot Givans one time and then fled the residence.
Givans was transported to Saint Clare Medical Center in Crawfordsville and later airlifted to Saint Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis with non-life threatening injuries.
Arthur was later located and taken into custody without incident.
Arthur was transported to Montgomery County Jail where he is charged with Felony Attempted Murder.
This is an on-going investigation.
