AB109 Task Force tracks down man wanted for shooting at a family

On June 25, 2013 Pomona Police Gang Detectives requested the assistance of the East San Gabriel Valley AB109 Task Force based out of Pomona PD to track down Salvador Luna, who was wanted for a shooting and was on active Post-Release Community Supervision. Luna was identified as the shooter in an incident that took place on June 19, 2013 in the area of Karesh Ave and Kingsley Ave in the City of Pomona. Luna had shot at a vehicle containing five occupants; 2 adults, 2 teenagers and a 2 month old baby. No one was injured as a result of the shooting. Although Luna is a known gang member, the shooting appears to be related to domestic issues. Members of the AB109 Task Force were able to locate Luna who attempted to run from the officers. Luna was arrested and was found to be in possession of a loaded handgun. Suspect Luna has been charged with five counts of attempted murder and his bail is set at $5,000,000.00. Suspect Luna has fully confessed to the crimes that he has been charged with. The AB 109 Task Force represents 11 law enforcement agencies; Azusa, Baldwin Park, Claremont, Covina, Glendora, Irwindale, La Verne, Pomona, West Covina, Whittier and the LA County Probation Department.
