WANTED: Assault/Robbery Suspect, Male, Black, 503-130, 18 years old, 9651 S. Western Av LA, Jesse Owens Park- LASD Parks Bureau
Detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Parks Bureau, are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a man who shot a male adult shortly after 11:30 PM on June 25, 2013. The incident occurred at Jesse Owens Community Regional Park which is located at 9651 S Western Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90047.
The victim was sitting in his vehicle in the parking lot at the park, when the suspect approached him riding a small black bicycle. The suspect asked the victim a question and at the same time reached into the vehicle and grabbed the victim’s cell phone. The victim then struggled with the suspect for the cell phone. During the struggle the suspect shot the victim. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he is listed in stable condition. The suspect then fled on his bicycle with the victim’s cell phone. The investigation is on-going and is being handled by Parks Bureau detectives.
The suspect is described as an 18 year-old male black, 5 foot 3 inches tall, weighing 130 pounds, with short braids. He was wearing a white tank top and black shorts.
