Today members of the Pendleton District Meth Suppression Squad served three arrest warrants as a result of two seperate ongoing investigations. Shortly after twelve noon, members served warrants on Steven Atkins, age 44, and his wife Clarissa Atkins, age 41, both of Muncie.

Both were charged with Possession Methamphetamine, Class “D” Felony, Maintaining a Common Nuisance, Class “D” Felony and Possession of Marijuana, Class “A” Misdemeanor. The pair was picked up at the Motel Six located at 5810 South Scatterfield Road in Anderson. The warrants were the result of an investigation that began in mid-May of this year. Both were lodged in the Madison County Jail.

Also arrested this afternoon was Karrie Hughes, age 40, of New Castle. She was charged in an ongoing meth investigation that involved the arrest of her husband, Robin Hughes, on June 20th of this month at their home on Hillsboro Road in New Castle.

Karrie Hughes was arrested on a warrant for Manufacturing Methamphetamine, Class “B” Felony, and Possession of Methamphetamine, Class “D” Felony. She was lodged in the Henry County Jail. Often times Meth Labs are found as a result of an anonymous tip from a neighbor or friend.
