TYPE OF INCIDENT: Burglary Spree Suspects Arrested

SUSPECT #1: Poasi Toleseli, 20 year- old, male, East Palo Alto resident

SUSPECT #2: Jamie Maldonado, 21 year-old, male, Menlo Park resident

SUSPECT #3: Marycruz Miranda, 20 year-old, female, Sunnyvale resident

SUSPECT VEHICLE: 1997 Green Honda Accord

On June 13, 2013, at approximately 2:45 pm a Mountain View Patrol Officer conducted a traffic stop on a green Honda Accord driven by Maldonado (S-2) and occupied by Toliseli (S-1) and Miranda (S-3). During the traffic stop, the Mountain View officer observed suspicious property inside the vehicle and through additional investigation confirmed the vehicle was associated with a burglary that had occurred in Sunnyvale. Further investigation led Mountain View officers to suspect the detained subjects may have been involved in a series of burglaries in Palo Alto, Redwood City, and San Mateo County; all having occurred that same day. Detectives from Sunnyvale DPS, Palo Alto PD, Redwood City PD, and the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office all responded to assist in the investigation.

Through a truly collaborative investigative effort, by all involved agencies, multiple victims were quickly identified. Multiple pieces of stolen property were recovered; confirming that all three subjects were involved in committing residential burglaries. All three suspects’ residences were searched. Stolen property was recovered from the suspects and in the Honda Accord. The investigation was further solidified when unique recovered stolen property was identified by one of the most recent victims of a Redwood City burglary.

All three suspects were booked into the San Mateo County Jail for residential burglary and conspiracy. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information regarding these three subjects is encouraged to contact Detective Jessica Gray at 650-780-7129.
