Advisory

Severe Weather Expected This Afternoon and Tonight. Strong winds, large hail and heavy rain are possible.

The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center has placed most of Northern Indiana under a moderate risk of severe weather for this afternoon and tonight.
The primary threat expected is damaging winds with gusts that could be in excess of 70mph. We could also see large hail, heavy rain (up to 2-3 inches) and have a medium potential for tornado activity.
Strong winds will lead to downed trees, power outages, and the potential for property damage. Heavy rains have the potential to cause flash flooding, localized flooding, ponding on road surfaces and washing out roads. The strongest severe weather threat will most likely between 7:00pm and 2:00am.
We encourage you to have your preparedness plans in place now since thunderstorms will develop quickly this afternoon.
