Personnel from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Malibu Lost Hills Station, conducted a DUI/DL Checkpoint on Friday, May 24, 2013 as part of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department commitment to public safety. This checkpoint was one of many that have been or will be conducted throughout the year in Malibu. The location of Saturday’s checkpoint was on Malibu Canyon north of Pacific Coast Highway, Malibu. The goal of the DUI/DL Checkpoint was removing impaired drivers and to bring awareness to the public of the dangers of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

1312 Vehicles through the Checkpoint

1302 Drivers Checked at the Checkpoint

2 Suspended/Revoked Drivers were Arrested and Sent to Court

10 Unlicensed Drivers were Arrested and Sent to Court

3 Drivers were Arrested for not having their driver’s license in their possession

1 Suspect was Arrested for Outstanding warrants

1 Vehicle was Impounded for 30 Days

2 Vehicles were Stored for 1 Day

9 Drivers were given Field Sobriety Tests
