OPD Makes Arrests in Robbery and Burglary Cases
Oakland, CA — A key part of our crime reduction strategy is to share information with the community. As a result, the community’s informed participation has assisted us to make robbery and burglary arrests.
On May 31, 2013, at 2:35 PM, Oakland Police officers were dispatched to the 400 block of 13th Street to investigate a report of a strong arm robbery. When the officers arrived, a group of citizens pointed out the victim, who had been assaulted and robbed of his belongings. The witness who reported the crime provided a description of the three suspects. The officers located one male adult suspect a block away and arrested him in connection with the robbery.
On June 1, 2013, at 2:40 PM, Oakland Police officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of 39th Avenue to investigate a burglary in progress. The caller observed three subjects. Upon arrival, officers observed two juvenile male suspects, who ran back behind the house when they saw the police. After officers established a perimeter, they took two suspects into custody. Officers located the third suspect a short time later. The three juvenile male suspects were arrested in connection with the burglary.
On June 2, 2013, at 7:47 PM, Oakland Police officers were dispatched to the 2100 block of San Pablo Avenue to investigate a report of a robbery and assault. The victim stated that she had been assaulted as the suspect attempted to take her backpack. Officers located the suspect a short distance away and arrested him in connection with assault and attempted robbery.
