05/27

01:44 a.m.

Officers responded to a vehicle collision. The suspect vehicle collided with a parked vehicle and then into a light pole. The force of the collision knocked down the power lines and caused a water main break. The suspect attempted to flee on foot but was detained by officers. The driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. There were no injuries caused by the collision and the suspect refused any medical attention.


8:45 p.m.
Officers on patrol conduct a traffic stop in the area of Tennyson Road and Hesperian Blvd. During a search of the vehicle, officers located ½ ounce of methamphetamine.

9:05 p.m.
A citizen attempted to sell his laptop computer using a craigslist listing. The citizen agreed to meet the person at Plunge Park at 9 p.m. The citizen met the potential buyer and his companion. While inspecting the laptop, the suspect ran away with the computer. The citizen chased one of the suspects. The suspect turned and punched the victim in the face and flees. Officers responded and detained two individuals. The victim was able to identify one of the suspects and the suspect was taken into custody.

11:45 p.m.
While Officers were patrolling n area known for gang activity, located a suspicious vehicle and initiated a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation. The vehicle was occupied by two known gang members. During a search of the vehicle, the officers located a handgun. During the investigation, officers located other evidence of the gang members posing with several weapons. Both suspects were arrested.

1:08 a.m.
While unloading his vehicle, a citizen was approached by two males. The suspect’s faces were partially covered when they approached the citizens. The presented a handgun and demanded the citizen’s property. During the incident, one of the suspects struck the citizen across the face with the gun. The citizen sustained non-life threatening injuries. The suspect’s took the citizen’s iPhone, duffle bag, and wallet.

10:49 a.m.
An unknown suspect threw a rock through the bottom window of the downtown Hayward Fire Station. No witnesses located.

5:57 p.m.
Officers responded to a welfare check on the 1500 block of Sumatra Ave. When officers arrived, the suspect armed himself with a large brick and fled from the officers. The suspect entered his residence and started punching one of the other residents of the home. Officers entered the home subdued the suspect to prevent further injury to the resident being assaulted.

8:00 a.m.
Officers from Patrol, District Command, the Special Response Unit, City of Hayward personnel, and county probation conducted a S.M.A.S.H. at the Green Shutter Hotel The objective was to execute probation searches on five units. Five arrests were made relating to drug charges. Code enforcement, community preservation and HFD fire inspectors found numerous issues with the individual rooms.

7:00 p.m.
A report of an armed robbery occurred on the 500 block of A Street. The suspect was armed with a handgun.

11:11 p.m.
Officers responded to a family disturbance in the area of Tennyson Road and Huntwood Ave. During the investigation it was determined the family one of the family members struck another family member with a wooden bat. The family member who was struck suffered soreness and redness to area. The other family member was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon.

06/01

1:00 p.m.
Road Rage occurred at the intersection of W Winton Avenue and Wright Drive. The Suspect was driving a S550 MBZ with his wife and child in rear seat. He rammed an older model truck. Suspect made contact with the driver of the older truck and threatened to kill the victim. The suspect was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and child endangerment.

1:40 p.m.
An Intoxicated male who had been drinking at a local pub all morning stated he met a couple of old friends near another drinking establishment. He voluntarily got into their car and was subsequently robbed of his pants, containing his wallet and cell phone. He described the suspects but did not know their names.

06/02
1:30 a.m.
Witness saw two Hispanic males in the neighborhood of Sycamore Ave and Ramos Ave. He believed the two males were acting suspicious. One male removed a handgun from his waist and fired three rounds toward the sky. One male then walked off and the other rode a bicycle off in different directions. Officers located three 9mm casings in the roadway. The males are not located.

4:30 a.m.
Citizen is at home when her ex-boyfriend arrives unannounced and unwelcome on the 25000 block of Carlos Bee Blvd. The suspect breaks the window to the residence and gains entry. The citizen runs out of her apartment and calls 911. Officers arrive and the suspect charges the officer’s. The suspect is subdued and arrested for breaking into the home and fighting with a police officer.

9:18 a.m.
Armed 211 occurred on the 22000 block of Main St. The suspect approached the citizen with a handgun and said “Give me your cash or I’ll shoot you”. The citizen said he had cash in his car which was parked nearby. The citizen then ran from the suspect. No suspect located by responding officers.

3:57 p.m.
Attempted robbery on the 2000 block of W. Tennyson Road. Victim is a customer inside the business. The suspect approaches the victim after he pays for his food and demands his money. Other patrons cause a commotion and the suspect fled the business without taking the victims property.
