The Forest Service has provided the following update to the White Fire:

As of 6pm today, the area is being repopulated and residents will be allowed to return to their homes and will need proof showing residency.

The size of the fire is 2,025 acres and is still at 65% containment.

Fire remains active on the north and east flanks. 30 ft. flames were observed. Weather pattern has been extended for two more days with more high winds expected.

A road closure remains in effect for Paradise Road and the lower Santa Ynez recreation area involving multiple trails and campgrounds.

Planned Actions: Crews will continue mopping up over night. Continue direct line construction on all side of the fire and structure defense for the special use cabins. Structure threats along the Santa Ynez River and Paradise Road were abated by suppression actions today.

Fire lines were tested by high winds in the afternoon and held because of support from fixed and rotary wing aircraft. Resources currently assigned are: 14 crews, 33 engines, 13 dozers, 8 water tenders (229 firefighters).
