White Fire Update - 4:08pm, Monday, 27 May 2013
The following is the most recent update from the fire service Public Information Officer:
The fire started somewhere in the vicinity of the White Rock Camp Area, Red Rock Canyon within the National Forest, and is within the U.S. Forest Service jurisdiction. Numerous resources from USFS, County Fire, and Santa Maria Fire have responded, including:
14 engines, 2 dozers, 3 water tenders, 2 hand crews, 4 air tankers and 2 helos. Temperature is 80 degress with winds approx. 20 mph. The fire is on a south-facing slope.
No acreage is available at this time but will be provided as soon as available. Paradise Road is closed, and nearby campgrounds are being evacuated. Approx. 50 structures have been assigned protection resources.
More information will be provided when available. OEM will continue to monitor the situation.
