Advisory

Wanted for Petit Larceny

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Seventh Precinct Crime Section officers are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the man who stole an iPhone from a Shirley gas station.

On May 9 at approximately 8:50 p.m., a male victim placed his iPhone on the check-out counter while he paid for items at the Citgo gas station, located at 950 Montauk Highway. The victim left the store and returned to retrieve his phone, however, it was gone. Surveillance video revealed that a man that was standing in line behind the victim removed the phone from the counter and left the store with it.

The suspect is described as a white male in his late 30s, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, with short shaved dark hair and heavy-build. He was wearing a black shirt with a large neon-colored character printed on the front. The suspect got into the passenger side of a white GMC Jimmy or Chevy Blazer (pictured below).

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
