Information Wanted: Hit and Run in Shirley
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Seventh Precinct Crime Section officers are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the vehicle and driver involved in a hit-and-run crash in Shirley that injured a teenager.
A 14-year-old boy was crossing William Floyd Parkway at Roberts Road on his bike at approximately 10:30 a.m. on May 11 when he was struck by a silver minivan. The driver, a black man, got out of the vehicle briefly before fleeing the scene. The teen was treated at Stony Brook University Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Anyone with information about this crime, or the vehicle involved, is asked to call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential. Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
