On April 27, 2013, our Daly City Police Explorer Post competed in the “Explorer Challenge 2013” in Brentwood. There were over 150 explorers from Northern California that competed in various scenarios. DCPD recognizes our explorers for the following team awards: First place in Suspicious Persons and second place in First Aid. For individual awards: Second place in Written Police Exam, Bike Course and PT (male). This Explorer program could not be successful without the direction of the Explorer Advisors who include Lead Explorer Advisor Officer Lee Magalong, Officer Lilian Tashiro, Officer Rey Asuncion and Officer Hans Castillo. These officers are very passionate and dedicated to the Explorer Post. This is a very worthwhile program—some of our officers (and former police chief!) started as Explorers.
