15 y/o Student Arrested for Unloaded Firearm on Diamond Ranch High School Grounds, Diamond Bar

On Friday, May 3, 2013, at approximately 12:30 P.M., deputies responded to Diamond Ranch High School,100 Diamond Ranch Road, Diamond Bar, regarding a report of a student who was possibly in possession of a firearm.

Deputies arrived swiftly and coordinated a plan with school officials. They detained the student safely and conducted a thorough search of the classroom where he was located. Deputies found and recovered an unloaded firearm inside the student's backpack next to his desk on the classroom floor. It was later determined the firearm in his possession had been reported stolen in 2008.

The student was arrested for Possession of a Firearm on School Grounds, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, and Minor in Possession of a Firearm, and is not eligible for bail.

He was booked at the Walnut/Diamond Bar Sheriff's Station and transported to the Los Angeles County Probation Department's Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall.
