Weekly Crime Summary Time Period: April 21st – April 27th

Homicides – Between 4/21-4/27, there were two homicides. In 2013 YTD, there have been eight homicides. In 2012 YTD, there were eight homicides.

• 4/26, 3:32pm, 1300 block of East Alondra Bl. Incident was gang-related; double homicide.

Rape – Between 4/21-4/27, there were no reported rapes. In 2013 YTD, there have been six reported rapes. In 2012 YTD, there were 13 reported rapes.

Robberies – Between 4/21-4/27, there were eight reported robberies. There were three armed robbery and five strong-arm robberies. Five incidents occurred between 1200-1800 hrs. During this time period, there were five chain snatch robberies which occurred between 1000-1800 hrs. Four of the five chain snatch robberies occurred in District IV. In 2013 YTD, total robberies are down approx. 4% from 2012.

• Home Invasion Robbery – Incident occurred on 4/27, b/t 12:30am – 1:00am in the 100 block of W. Johnson St. Victs were awaken in their bedroom by S1/MB/20-21/508-511/thin build/wearing a drk bandana covering mouth, drk hooded sweatshirt, and drk pants. S1 pointed a blk handgun at the victs and said, “Don’t follow me or I’ll shoot you!” as he exited the room with a whi canvass bag. The susp then closed the bedroom door and exited the front door of the location. Entry was made through an unlocked kitchen window. Loss: $400, two cell phones, iPod, and a trio tablet.

Aggravated Assaults – Between 4/21-4/27, there were eight reported incidents of aggravated assault. Those incidents include three domestic violence incidents. During this period, there were 3 ADW-Gun incidents. In District II, there two gang-related assaults during this time period. In 2013 YTD, aggravated assaults are up approx. 34% from 2012.

Residential Burglary – Between 4/21-4/27, there were 13 reported residential burglaries. Over 75% of incidents occurred between 8:00am -3:00pm. During this time period, District I & District IV each had four reported residential burglaries. In 2013 YTD, residential burglaries are up approx. 9% from 2012.

• On 4/26; b/t 9:45am – 2:50pm, there were two residential burglaries with similar suspect and vehicle descriptions. In both incidents, there were 4 MB suspects approx. 20 yrs old. The suspect vehicle was described as silver 05-09 Audi sedan in one incident. Suspects targeted flat screen TVs and small electronics in both incidents.

Comm/Other Structure Burglary – Between 4/21-4/27, there were two reported comm/other structure burglaries. In 2013 YTD, there have been 56 reported incidents. In 2012 YTD, there 48 were reported incidents.

Grand Theft Auto – Between 4/21-4/27, there were 17 reported stolen vehicles. Peak times of occurrence were between 8:00pm-4:00am (14 incidents). Peak days of occurrence were Wednesday (4) & Thursday (3). The most frequent vehicles stolen were 90’s model Honda Accords (3) and 89-92 Nissan P/U (2). During this time period, RD 2813 had three reported stolen vehicles. In 2013 YTD, GTAs are up approx. 26% from 2012.

Vehicle Burglary – Between 4/21-4/27, there were 7 reported vehicle burglaries. Three incidents occurred between 1:00am-4:00am. During this time period, there were two vehicle burglaries in West Compton (RD 2872) b/t the 2500-2900 block of W. Compton Bl; both of those incidents occurred in the EM hrs. In 2013 YTD, there have been 101 reported incidents; up approx. 29% from 2012.
