Substitute Teacher Arrested for Inappropriate Relationship with Student
Suffolk County Police today arrested a substitute teacher from Eastport South Manor High School for having an inappropriate sexual relationship with a16-year-old student.
Following an investigation, detectives from the Special Victims Section arrested Allan Concepcion at his Mount Sinai home early this morning for a sexual encounter he had with a student earlier this year.
In addition to being a substitute teacher, Concepcion, 38, of 19 Salisbury Run, Mt. Sinai, is also the junior varsity volleyball coach for Eastport South Manor High School and an assistant coach with the Long Island Fury volleyball traveling team. He has also served as a substitute teacher and gymnastics coach at the Hampton Bays Middle School.
Detectives arrested Concepcion at his home this morning and charged him with Rape 3rd Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. He will be held overnight at the Seventh Precinct and is scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on May 1.
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
