Incident: Man Arrested for Burglarizing Multiple Homes

Location: Pine Acres Boulevard and Old Country Road, Deer Park

Date/Time: Sunday, April 28, 2013 at 4:45 p.m.

Suffolk County Police have arrested a Deer Park man for burglarizing multiple homes during the past two months.

First Squad detectives were responding to investigate a burglary that had occurred earlier in the day at a home on Baldwin Path in Dix Hills when they canvassed the nearby area on April 28 at 4:45 p.m. Detectives located a suspect on Pine Acres Boulevard and Old Country Road in Deer Park and subsequently charged James Lovret with Burglary 2nd Degree. A further investigation determined that Lovret, 30, of 4 Christopher Court, Deer Park, was responsible for two other burglaries on his block last month. He was additionally charged with two counts of Burglary 2nd Degree.

Lovret was held overnight in the First Precinct for his arraignment today at First District Court in Central Islip. The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information about this burglary or others in the area to call the First Squad at 631-854-8152 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
