Starting April 29th, US Route 6 will be closed for about 7 days, just West of McLindon Road in Channahon for railroad crossing repairs.
IDOT announced that starting Monday, April 29, 2013 US Route 6 will be closed, just West of McLindon Road in Channahon, to allow the Canadian National Railroad to rebuild their railroad crossing. The Illinois Department of Transportation has posted the following detours:
- US 6 eastbound traffic will proceed north on Brisbin Road to Interstate 80; then east on Interstate 80 to Ridge Road (Exit 122); then south on Ridge Road back to US 6.
- US 6 westbound traffic will proceed north on Ridge Road to Interstate 80; then west on Interstate 80 to Brisbin Road (Exit 116); then south on Brisbin Road back to US 6.
The closeure is scheduled for 7 days.
