Lafayette-Today at approximately 3:20 a.m. on I-65 northbound near the 171 mile marker(that is just south of the State Road 26 exit at the 172 mm) a semi pulling double trailers swerved to miss a deer and rolled onto it's side closing the right lane of the interstate

Trooper Tyler Bentlage of the Indiana State Police at Lafayette stated that the brown 2013 Kenworth tractor pulling two trailers all owned by UPS out of Aurora, IL was northbound on the interstate. The driver, Brian R. Kuchay, 40 years old from Plainfield, IL stated he swerved to miss a deer, went into the median striking several cable barrier poles. The semi came out of the median, crossing both lanes of traffic into the right ditch where it came to rest onto it's side

The driver was transported to IU Arnett Hospital in Lafayette complaining of neck and back pain. The right lane of I-65 was closed for approximately four hours for cleanup and investigation of the crash. Both trailers were loaded. The investigation is continuing.
