3rd Annual Basketball Challenge in Antelope Valley

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Parks Bureau, in partnership with the Los Angeles County Parks and Recreation Department, will hold the Third Annual “Parks Basketball Challenge” on Saturday, April 27, 2013, at 9:00 a.m. at George Lane Park, 5520 W. Avenue L-8, Quartz Hill, 93536.
“Parks Basketball Challenge” is a skills competition for children 7-14 years of age, aimed at promoting an active lifestyle and spending time playing in the Los Angeles County Parks. This event also promotes positive interaction with Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Personnel who are responsible for security of all Los Angeles County parks. There are trophies for first through third place finishers in each age group. The event is free with several raffle prizes, food and drinks, and a basketball clinic for all of the competitors. There will also be event t-shirts given to the first 200 competitors.
This event could not have been made possible without the help of the Honorable Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich and many local businesses in the community.
For additional information regarding this event, please contact Parks and Recreation staff, at (661) 722-7780.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Departments Parks Bureau is dedicated to providing a safe and drug free environment at all Los Angeles County Parks.
