Driver Arrested for OWI After Four vehicle Crash
Lafayette-Today at approximately 10:59 a.m. on I-65 southbound at exit ramp 178 mile marker (this is the State Road 43 exit ramp), a vehicle fails to stop and runs into the rear of one car which ended up damaging four vehicles..
Trooper Mike Krueger of the Lafayette State Police Post advised that a black 2010 Honda Pilot driven by Gail L. Kronewitter, 44 years old from Naperville, IL was exiting off the ramp . She failed to stop and ran into the rear of a white 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Kyle M. Neidig, 19 years old from Evansville, IN who was stopped at the stop sign behind two other cars.
The Pontiac was then pushed into the rear of a 2006 white Chrysler Town and Country driven by Jerry P. Palm, 49 years old from Schererville, IN. Palm's car was then pushed into a tan 2000 Honda Odyssey driven by Heather E. Corbin, 36 years old from Chalmers, IN.
No one was injured in the crash. Kronewitter was charged with Operating While Intoxicated and Speed to Fast to Avoid collision. She was booked into the Tippecanoe County Jail. She tested .30% Blood Alcohol Content.
Assisting at the scene was Indiana State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division Trooper Ashley Kelly.
