New Troopers Hit The Road at Lafayette District

Lafayette -Indiana has 47 new troopers assigned to state police districts throughout the state now patrolling the roads. Members of the 72nd Indiana State Police Recruit School that graduated on December 21, 2012 received their patrol cars yesterday at the Indiana State Police Museum, located at the Indiana State Police Indianapolis District.

The troopers received approximately 917 hours of structured training at the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy. Their curriculum included; administrative subjects, general police subjects, investigations/criminal subjects, criminal and traffic law subjects.

The new troopers are Aaron D. Allen, Stephen W. Grayson and Clayton Gum.

Trooper Allen was born and raised on the west side of Indianapolis. After graduating from Ben Davis High School where he played football for four years, he attended Kentucky Wesleyan College in Owensboro, KY where he studied Elementary Education. Allen will be working Tippecanoe and Clinton Counties.

Trooper Grayson is originally from Charlestown, IN and graduated from Charlestown High School where he played football, basketball and golf. He attended Franklin College for two years and transferred to the University of Tennessee where he studied Sociology. Grayson is engaged and will be working Tippecanoe and Carroll Counties.

Trooper Gum is a native of Knox County and graduated from North Judson-San Pierre High School. After high school, he attended Wabash College and received a Degree in Economics. Gum will be working Montgomery and Fountain Counties and will reside in Crawfordsville, IN.

The new troopers started patrolling today.
