Weekly Crime Summary Time Period: March 24th – March 30th

Homicides – Between 3/24‐3/30, there was one gang‐related homicide. In 2013 YTD, there have been five homicides. In 2012 YTD, there were six homicides.

• Incident occurred on 3/27, 4:07pm in the 900 block of W. Rosecrans Av. (Gang‐related incident.)

Rape – Between 3/24‐3/30, there were no reported rapes. In 2013 YTD, there have been five reported rapes. In 2012 YTD, there were eleven reported rapes.

Robberies – Between 3/24‐3/30, there were six reported robberies. There was one armed robbery and five strong‐arm robberies. All incidents occurred between 2:00pm‐11:00pm. During this time period, 66% incidents occurred between Friday & Saturday. There were two incidents on E. Compton Bl (b/t Long Beach Bl/Bradfield Av). In 2013 YTD, total robberies are down approx. 7% from 2012.

Aggravated Assaults – Between 3/24‐3/30, there were 13 reported incidents of aggravated assault.

Those incidents include one domestic violence incident. During this period, there were two ADW‐Gun incidents (both gang‐related incidents). District II & District IV each had four reported aggravated assault incidents. In 2013 YTD, aggravated assaults are up approx. 34% from 2012.

Residential Burglary – Between 3/24‐3/30, there were 14 reported residential burglaries. Eight incidents occurred between 10:00am‐2:00pm. During this time period, District III (2 in RD 2835) & District IV each had four reported incidents during this time period. In 2013 YTD, residential burglaries are up approx. 16% from 2012.

Comm/Other Structure Burglary – Between 3/24‐3/30, there were two reported comm/other structure burglaries. In 2013 YTD, there have been 40 reported incidents. In 2012 YTD, there 33 were reported incidents.

Grand Theft Auto – Between 3/24‐3/30, there were 18 reported stolen vehicles. Eleven incidents occurred between 11:00pm‐6:00am. Peak days of occurrence were Friday (4) & Saturday (3). The most frequent vehicles stolen were 90’s model Honda Accords (4) & Nissan King Cab P/U (2). During this time period, District II had 8 reported stolen vehicles (3 in RD 2823). District III had four reported stolen vehicles (2 in RD 2833) during this time period. In 2013 YTD, GTAs are up approx. 36% from 2012.

Vehicle Burglary – Between 3/24‐3/30, there were seven reported vehicle burglaries. Six incidents occurred between 11:00pm‐4:00am. During this time period, there were five vehicle burglaries in District IV (3 in RD 2847). In 2013 YTD, there have been 71 reported incidents; up approx. 39% from 2012.
