On Monday April 15th, E. Terra Cotta Avenue at the intersection of IL 176/IL 31 will be permanently closed to allow the contractor to start the removal of the existing underground storage tanks. The closure of this fifth leg of the intersection is a planned closure with the IDOT intersection improvement. The purpose of the closure is to create a safer standard four leg intersection. Access to E. Terra Cotta Avenue will be via Smith Road off of IL 176. IL 176 and IL 31 will remain open during and after construction.
