"Hot Truck" Located in Frankfort

Frankfort-Today at approximately 9:05 a.m. in Frankfrot, IN Trooper Ashley Kelly of the Indiana State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division stopped a box truck for safety check.

Trooper Kelly advised as she was inspecting the white 2007 International straight truck, she had the driver, Alejandro Ramirez, 35 years old from Chicago, IL open the back doors. Inside she found boxes of cheese with blood dripping on the boxes from meat stacked above the cheese. Several boxes of cheese were contaminated and had to be destroyed.

The Clinton County Board of Health arrived and cited several other violations and released the truck. Trooper Kelly cited and put the driver out of service for log book violations. Winski Brothers Waste Removal arrived and hauled away the boxes of cheese. The truck was released to the owner.

The Indiana State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division strives to keep commercial vehicles to follow safety and stricter health guidelines to insure the food consumed is fresh and free of contaminates. Troopers work hard to insure the products we consume are of the utmost quality.
