LOCATION: 700 block of East Avenue K, Lancaster- LASD Homicide

VICTIM: Kevin Tatum (17 year-old)

SUSPECT(S): unknown

NARRATIVE:
Sheriff’s homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of a youth who was killed at a house party in the 700 block of East Avenue K, Lancaster, in the early morning hours of Saturday, March 30, 2013.

Investigators have learned guests were leaving the location when a fight broke out. An unknown suspect produced and fired a handgun. The 17 year-old victim, identified as Kevin Tatum, a resident of Compton, was hit by the gunfire. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The shooting is believed to be gang related.

Homicide detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to please call Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.

Sheriff's Homicide Detectives are en route to the 700 block of East Avenue K, Lancaster, to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a male juvenile.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
