A strong arm robbery occurred when the two suspects were partying with the two victims at a local motel. One victim was robbed of cash and dropped off at a motel. The suspects drove the second victim to another motel and robbed her of a purse. Officers were able to piece the stories together and tracked down and arrested the two robbery suspects.

Officers went to the area of the 1800 block of C Street regarding someone shooting a firearm from a vehicle. Officers located a subject in a vehicle in front of a vacant house and learned that two others were hiding inside the house. All subjects were detained, no firearm was located.

Three teenaged students were accosted by an adult subject with a handgun in the 2100 block of Depot Rd.. The suspect took cash from one of the victims and fled. None of the victims was injured and the suspect is still outstanding.

School Resource Officers and medical personnel responded to Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School regarding several students who became ill after eating homemade brownies. The investigation revealed that a student from the school was giving away brownies suspected to contain marijuana. None of the students who ate the brownies had to be taken for medical treatment. The investigation is ongoing to determine all parties involved in the making of the brownies.

Officers responded to a residence in the 29000 block of Lassen Dr. regarding an assault with a deadly weapon. The investigation revealed that during an argument, the father threw hot cooking oil at his 19 year old daughter. The daughter suffered only minor injuries and the father was taken into custody.

Officers responded to a bank in the 24000 block of Hesperian Bl. regarding a grand theft. During the investigation, officers learned that the victim advertised a diamond necklace for sale on Craigslist with a price of $1400. The suspect and victim arranged to meet at the bank where the suspect agreed to buy the necklace. While standing at the bank teller to transfer funds, the suspect grabbed the necklace from the victim and fled. The suspect was chased by an off-duty Oakland police officer who confronted the suspect as he was getting into a vehicle. The suspect threw the necklace at the officer and fled in the vehicle. This investigation is ongoing.

Legitimate business occurs every day by users of Craigslist however, criminals sometimes utilize the service to commit crimes. Following some simple crime prevention tips can greatly reduce the likelihood of becoming a victim:
• Do not meet in a secluded place, or invite strangers into your home
• Be especially careful when buying/selling high value items
• Tell a friend or family member where you’re going
• Take your cell phone along
• Consider having a friend accompany you
• Trust your instincts

HPD responded to several calls of a shooting between two vehicles in the area of Tennyson Rd and Huntwood Ave. When officers arrived, they found a vehicle abandoned in the area with two bullet holes. The vehicle was stolen out of San Jose. No suspects or victims were located.

Suspects in two vehicles were shooting at each other in the area of Calaroga Ave and Tennyson Rd. One bullet hit the occupant of an uninvolved vehicle. The innocent bystander was treated for a non-life threatening injury at a local hospital. No suspects have been identified however vehicle descriptions were provided to the police.

Officers were providing extra patrol to the Tennyson Rd area as a result of recent shootings between vehicles when they saw a vehicle matching the description in a previous shooting. The vehicle fled when officers attempted to stop it and a vehicle pursuit ensued. The suspects crashed their vehicle on highway 580 in Oakland. Three local gang members were arrested and three firearms were located inside of the vehicle.
