Two adult male suspects were arrested by police on Thursday, March 21, 2013, after a resident of a home in the 4900 block of South Sheridan Drive (Fruitport Township) arrived home on that date to find two men at the residence. The incident took place around 3:00 p.m.
The front door to the residence had been forced open. Rooms inside the home had been ransacked, and valuables were discovered to be missing.
One of the suspects fled on foot immediately when the resident of the home came home. The resident entered the home to find a second suspect still inside the home. That suspect fled on foot as well after being confronted by the resident.
One of the suspects was stopped down the road from the residence by a group of teens who had been alerted to the situation. They waited with the suspect until police arrived on scene and took him into custody.
A K-9 unit and officers from multiple area agencies converged in the area and tracked the second suspect through the snow, taking him into custody in the area of Cline Road and S. Walker Rd.
Both suspects were arrested and lodged at the Muskegon County Jail where they are awaiting arraignment. Both suspects have multiple prior felony convictions and had been released from prison recently. One of the suspects is currently on parole for multiple prior Home Invasion offenses.

No further information regarding the incident, the investigation, or the names of the involved parties is being released by police at this time.
