Today, at approximately 2:00 pm, a resident was bitten by a raccoon at his home on Shawnee Trail. At this time, it is unknown if the raccoon is infected by the rabies virus. Therefore, we are asking all residents to contact the Denville Police Department at 973-627-4900 ext 9 if they see any raccoons on their property. If the raccoon is captured, we will notify the public immediately.
