NARRATIVE:
In connection with an ongoing narcotics investigation the Burlington Police Detectives including lead investigator Ric Volp, along with agents from the FBI and US Marshal’s Service, and ATF and Vermont State Police executed a search warrant at a residence at 69 Spring Street early this morning.

Victor Allen, a Brooklyn New York man was arrested on a felony charges of sale of crack cocaine and possession of heroin. Also arrested was Maria Twitty of Burlington for possession of narcotics.

During the search police recovered sizeable quantities of crack cocaine, heroin, and powder cocaine as well as more than $10,000 in cash and a firearm.

During execution of the search warrant, police officers were stationed at the Integrated Arts Academy at HO Wheeler School, located directly across the street from 69 Spring Street as a precaution. Additionally, school administration was notified as soon as the warrant execution began. No disruption in school day activities occurred or is anticipated. The scene was secure before students began arriving for the day.

Suspect(s) criminal histories include:
• Maria Twitty has convictions for Disorderly Conduct and Simple Assault in Vermont.
• Victor Allen has no known criminal history. He has lived in Brooklyn, NY and Nigeria and recently obtained a VT driver’s license in June of 2012.

All suspects will be lodged at the Chittenden Regional Correctional Center and will be arraigned Monday morning at 10:30 am in Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division.

Investigation continues and anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Rick Volp at 802-540-2277. Substantial cash rewards may be available for information leading to convictions of these suspects or other involved in narcotics trafficking.

An update will be issued as new information becomes available. We anticipate that this will be well into the evening. As soon as mug shots are available they will be released as well.
