Rest Park Crash Claims Two Lives
Hendricks, Co. - Early this morning, March 13th, at 3:05 a.m., Indiana State Police responded to a vehicle crash at the I-74 WB rest park, 56 mm that killed two Missouri men.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a semi-tractor trailer was parked on the shoulder of the entrance to the rest park. David Antoine Tarpy, 28, of Neosho, Missouri was operating a 2004 Pontiac WB on I-74 and lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle went under the semi-tractor trailer killing Mr. Tarpy and his front seat passenger Brad Alan Morrison, 30 of Noesho, Missouri. They were pronounced dead at the scene by the Hendricks County Coroner’s Office. The family has been notified.
The semi-tractor trailer operator was sleeping in the berth and was not injured.
Trooper’s reported that snow had been falling in the area and could have been a contributing factor in the crash.
The Indianapolis District trooper’s responded to 27 property damage, six personal injuries, one fatal crash and ten slide off’s from 6:00 p.m. yesterday to 9:00 a.m. this morning.
