Press Release from UVM PD re Criminal Activity on Bus Route from NYC to Burlington That Stops at UVM's Main Campus

In the last several months, UVM Police have become aware of criminal activity taking place on a bus route from New York City to Burlington that stops on UVM’s Main campus.
As part of the UVM Police response to these incidents, Officers from the University of Vermont Police along with our partner law enforcement agencies (South Burlington Police, Burlington Police Department, DEA, FBI) have been performing criminal interdiction at the bus drop off / pick up location – 590 Main St - UVM’s Davis Center.
As a direct result of this interdiction work, UVM Police have made the following arrests in the last five days:
• NYC Resident - Shirley Colon (age 21) Bronx, NY. Charged with felony possession of Cocaine & Poss. Of Marijuana, court date of 03/04/13 due to lodging at corrections.
• NYC Resident - Desean Nisbett (age 21) Bronx, NY. Charged with felony possession of Narcotics (Oxycodone) Court date of 03/04/13 due to lodging at corrections.
• A 17 yr old female from Brooklyn, NY, Court date of 03/08/13 due to arraignment charged with Cocaine Trafficking and Heroin Trafficking.
POSSIBLE ADDITIONAL ARRESTS:
The total drugs confiscated:
~1400 bags of Heroin powder
~1000 Oxycodone pills
~4.2 oz. of Crack Cocaine
Total Street value: ~$70,000
Police investigation into these drug trafficking incidents continues. Additional arrests may be forthcoming.
