(INDIANAPOLIS) - At approximately 7:54 P.M., officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched to the 1800 blk. of Edinburge Square, the Wellington Village Apartments, on multiple calls to 9-1-1 reporting shots had been fired, and a subsequent call indicating someone had been shot.

When officers arrived they found an unidentified male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound that was pronounced deceased by EMS personnel. Officers then located further victims, inside an apartment that had also been shot. Two unidentified males were transported to Wishard Memorial Hospital, one in critical and the other in serious conditions. The fourth unidentified male was not transported he was treated on the scene for a gunshot wound to the hand which is believed to be non-life threatening. Investigators are currently looking for a dark colored vehicle with two black males seen leaving the scene immediately following the shooting.

The Marion/Indianapolis Forensics Services Agency is processing the crime scene and homicide investigators are canvassing the area for information. The Marion County Coroner’s Office will positively identify the deceased and ensure his family has been notified. Once detectives have confirmed the identity of the other shooting victims this advisory may be updated.
