Rabies Alert
On Tuesday, 2/26/13, at 11:10 am, the Denville Township Animal Control Officer was called to the area of South Wynde Drive, behind the A&P, to investigate the complaint that a raccoon had attacked a domestic dog. Animal Control captured the raccoon and later discovered that it had been infected with the rabies virus. As such, the Denville Health Department recommends that all dogs and cats that were outside in that area, unattended, during the previous 24 hours, receive a booster for the rabies virus. The Township does not provide these boosters at this time. If you have any questions, please contact the Health Department at 973.625.8300, ext. 261.
