APD investigating a shot fired in the Medical Center area.

On February 21st, at approximately 8:30am, officers were dispatched to a report of shots fired in the 7300 block of Fleming. Upon arrival officers talked with a 26 year old female who advised a male subject had just fired a shot at her and then took off. The suspect had originally entered the business asking to speak with the female; however she was not present at that time. The suspect went back out and waited in the passenger seat of a white older model 4 door Honda. A short time later the female arrived and exited her vehicle and proceeded to work. The suspect vehicle drove towards the female and the passenger male yelled at the female, then produced a weapon of some type and fired one round towards the female. The victim was not struck, but the bullet did strike a nearby door. The male and female are not married but have been in a relationship. The victim does have children that attended Mesa Verde elementary. As a safety precaution, school administrators locked the building down. There was no direct or indirect threat to any one at the school. The incident is still under investigation and a case will be presented to the 47th District Attorneys office.
